Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Representative

Chesapeake ENT, a division of Chesapeake Specialty Care has an opening for a Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position.

This position will be in our Owings Mills office. The hours of work are varied Monday through Friday, but between business hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM in 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. No weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Register, check in, and check out patients.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Collect copays and patient balances.
  • Assist patients with insurance documents and billing questions.
  • Ensure that patients have completed all necessary paperwork.
  • Scan and enter referrals.
  • Assist with pulling charts and filing paperwork.
  • Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Preferred 1-year medical front desk/receptionist experience.
  • Basic office skills such as typing and filing.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients.


Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
